Is it possible to network a wireless laptop with router to access only dsl and printer or does there have to be another computer involved?

you didn't say what kind of network setup that you have. do you have a corporate network that use's dsl for internet access, or this will be standalone? Is the printer on the corporate side of the network? Or is it connected to the laptop directly.
Lot's of way's to do this, depending on what you need for security, ect.
Alot of dsl routers today come with wireless built in, along with ethernet and usb. you could use a wireless jet direct for the printer also.
This depends alot on what you need for security, ect.

I have a hp pavilion zv5000 with wireless capability 802.11b/g WLAN, an Epson 385 printer and a dsl cable internet connection. If I can, I would like to buy a router that will network these without involving another computer. This is for home/personal use only. Thank you for any help

Ok! I'm assuming that your cable router has a ethernet port on it. If so all you would have to get is a wireless access point (WAP), plug it in to the cable box, and setup your network. Make sure you turn on security on your WAP. As far as the printer is concerned you can get a wireless print server for that.
Probably not a snap, but should not be to bad.

Thanks for the help. I've decided to go in a different direction and upgrade my desktop. Will undoubtedly have more questions when I attempt to set it up.

wIRELESS IS GOOD TO SOME EXTENT!But for printing I wouldnt recommend it. Anyways best solution would be to get a router and a desktop. Network the printer through your desktop and you can access it through your wireless laptop.
    Thats what I do :)

Okay now question on the last post. I just setup a 802.11b network for my brother at his house. He has a Wireless D-Link router with a cable modem. His desktop computer plugs into the router (because it doesn't have a wireless card) and his laptop has a wireless card. Is there a way to allow the laptop to print to his desktop computer's Shared Printer?
