you can convert the IAP to CAP, but when in factory default, it should go through the controller discovery process.
as a quick test, see if you can have a controller in L2 adjacency, it should discover it.

Hi recently purchased a few AP 615s to replace my existing AP 505.
My controller has upgraded to version 8.11 to manage the AP 615.
Since all new APs first came delivered as IAPs.
My question is do I need to manually convert my AP 615 to CAP?
FYI, We have a DHCP server that will assign IPs to AP and have connectivity to the Controller.
