AOS 8.10.0.7 - One MM and two 7210 controllers
Our Apple device team mentioned to us they are unable to do better than an 802.11n connection with any Apple device on campus. Most of our managed Apple devices support ax with a few of the oldest ones supporting up to ac. We are seeing an uptick of Apple device complaints of slow speeds on some campus buildings.

I took a look at some Windows clients and noticed the same behavior. Only getting AX on the 2.4Ghz channel and 5GHz operates on Wifi 4 speeds (that is what Windows tells me anyway). I am not noticing the performance issues on the Windows devices, just the iOS/MacOS devices.
High efficiency has always been enabled in our environment, and we are using around 250 515s over 8 or more buildings.
I have a group per building, and most are set with these radio settings:
Has anyone had issues like this?

You can disable the HT (11n)/VHT (11ac)/HE (11ax) modes per SSID in the ht-ssid-profile. That may have happened in your case?

With some WiFi scanners, like Aruba Utilities, you can check if the VHT information is broadcasted, and on the controller CLI you can use 'show ap bss-table' to see if VHT/HE is actually broadcasted.

What if my BSS table is empty?

Nevermind my last comment. I see my populated table.

For my APs I see 2.4GHz/HE/20Mhz and 5GHz/HE/80Mhz

In that case, the SSIDs are broadcasted in 802.11ax mode.

With 'show ap association' you can check how the client is connected (phy) and what the client can do/is advertising (phy_cap).
