I want to onboard switch model 2530 to aruba central. It is pre-configured switch. I want to manage it through central now. 

If I move the switch to a new template group will that remove my switch config? 

To move to template group do I need an existing template in the group which matches with the switch running config? Or It will move automatically without effort?

For AOS-S switches it's currently not possible to import the existing configuration. When you move the switch to a template group, the new template will override the switch config.

Before you move the switch to the template group you can make sure the template matches the config of the 2530 switch. If it is just one switch you can import the config as-is. If there is not template in the new group nothing happens. There is a button to import the current switch config as template.
