Has anyone experienced the tranceiver ports swapping then the Procurve 2626-PWR is powered off and then back on?

This switch is connected to our core switch via fiber and when it powercycled over the weekend, the tranceiver port changed from 25 to 26. Manually moving fiber from 25 to 26 restored the connection, but this probably should not be happening...

Pretty much unusual...what is the software version the switch is running on?

H.10.38, ROM H.08.02

If the SKU is J8164A try first to update Switch software to latest H.10.119 of 2016, I suspect H.10.38 is very old - probably pre-2008 - and potentially buggy (latest H.10.119 uses the same BootROM H.08.02 your Switch has so the update process is a matter of just one reboot).

What is the SKU of SFP Transceiver used into your HP ProCurve 2626 switch?
