What user name and password do I use when connecting to a procurve 2810 switch from a browser?

I have cleared and reset the settings of a procurve 2810 switch. From the console I assigned a new manager password. When I connect to the switch from a browser I am prompted for user name and password. user name Manager and a valid password are not accepted.

What user name should I use? Where do I config that user name?

The default is .... no username and no password.

Just hit the "clear" button to do a reset on the username and password if in doubt.

Yea that works but in your case it's probably no username and the password you set. By default the username is not set as was previuosly mentioned.

leaving user name and password blank, I click "login". I am prompted again for user name and password.

the title of the window is "authentication required". The server 192.168.1.55:80 at procurve J9021A requires a user name and password.

I get this from IE and Chrome. Java is installed.

I entered Manager. spaces. even my windows network administrator id.

Sometimes you will be prompt twice for a username and password when you are accessing the web interface.

Try
username "leave blank"
password what you set the manager password to.

Do this on each login prompt.

It should allow you to log in.

Forgot one bit of your post, since i started it off by reading it half way.

You cannot set the user-name from the web, you have to use the cli.

GPRSW3(config)# password manager user-name whatyouwantyourusername

I`ve got an HP 2810 and a 2610, after factory default, how can I access the gui? Is there a default ip? Or what is the method? Iam new to this products so sorry for the dumb question, and please advice me what and how to do.
