I have a HP PSC 2510 printer; I have been using it for a year just as a printer. I installed the other components (HP Image Zone, HP Director) after getting a digital camera with a memory card and wanting to scan regular pictures into the PC.
I installed and reinstalled the CD (hp psc 2500 photosmart series 3.5.1) and ran the HP update services. Sometimes placing a picture on the 2510 and selecting “scan” will see the PC and sometimes it won't, and I have the same problem with the memory card, sometimes it sees the PC, sometimes it does not.
After the reinstallation, when I shut down XP, I get the message that hpqtra80.exe is hung
I went to HP and got on-line with a chat tech, they said to download the patch hpcmpmgrFix. Which did not work.
The printing is fine, the Picture scanning and Digital Camera transferring to the PC is the problem.
I have Windows XP Pro all patched and everything. I also have a Sony Camcorder with the Sony Picture Package installed.
What would cause the connection for Photo Scanning and Digital Camera memory card file transfer to work / not work?
