Hi all
We have HP 5406 switch, our network separated to 2 physical LAN’S, production LAN and labs LAN.
We have 2 sites that connected with MPLS and we set 40MB rate limit bandwidth for the labs WAN network.
labs servers in site A are working a lot with servers in site B.
The topology is that: our labs L3 switch HP 5406 are connected to production CISCO in 1G port and from there to the other site on WAN .
I mean, all the lab equipment are connected to HP 2510 switches, and all the 2510 are connected to HP 5406 backbone, and 5406 connected to CISCO and then goes the other site on WAN line.
The servers sometimes takes all the 40MB WAN bandwidth, so I’m thinking on setting rate limit on the port that goes to CISCO switch(the gateway port) its 1 giga port and we have just 40MB line so I thinking on limiting the rate-limit to 30MB.
What you think?
Something like that : HP5406# interface A1 rate-limit all out percent 97
What you think? Do you have better solution? (except of increasing the WAN bandwidth J).
Thanks you very much!
