Just a controller does not provide guest self-registration features. ClearPass or another external guest solution may be needed to meet such a requirement.
Please note that ArubaOS 8.1 is end-of-support for quite some time (since 2018). I would really suggest an upgrade to a supported version, which is separate from the point that there is no guest self-registration in AOS 8.x itself at all.

We managed to upgrade the controller from 6.5 to 8.1 however access to materials or video on how to configure captive portal with self registration to the wifi and having an approver once a guest fills a form is proving diffucutl. I will appreciate videos and and links for OS version 8.1 configuration.
