Hi,
I'm new to the community so apologies if this appears in an earlier discussion...
I am curious to understand how the end device config (mainly switches) is maintained versus the group config. I have a few questions / examples which would help me understand things a little clearer if someone could help answer them.
Is there a way in Central to show which parts of a device running config have been applied via the group inheritance and which parts are device specific?
If I configure a VLAN e.g. 111 within the group UI then this is then passed down to all switches. If I then delete VLAN 111 whilst in device level config on one switch then it will override the group config and remove VLAN 111 - all good so far. So what happens if I want to re-create the VLAN on the local switch - will I need to add it locally again? or is there a way to force the group config back down to the switch?
To summarise - I have concerns that over time some device configs will override the group level configs and will not get updated if the group is changed in the future - how can I manage any exceptions in device level configs which have been made but forgotten about?
Thanks
Richard
