  • 1.  Ruckus Controller - User roles

    Dear Experts,

One my customer is using ClearPass with Aruba and now they are integrating CPPM with Ruckus. User auth is working fine with dynamic vlans. However they want to implement the user roles as they are doing with Aruba wireless. They have tried different attributes such as filter-id, user-groups but none can assign the user roles.

Does anyone have experience with Ruckus SZ and can advise how to assign user roles via radius attributes? which attribute to use?

Hi, does the RuckusSZ  use USER ROLES as part of the solution? Probably Ruckus use something similar but must likely is not called user roles.

Do you have any documentation on how the Ruckus SZ manages diferent types of users? If you do have some, please shared it and I can take a look at it.

    Regards

Sorry its ZD. Not really sure if there is much different in SZ and ZD. And they don't implement user roles exactly like Aruba but to some extent they have the template format which defines Vlan and access control like we do. But from user guide its clear, Ruckus doesn't use roles as we do. Today Ruckus support answered to check against User-Name attribute, I am not sure it will work but lets see.
