  • 1.  sha256 "invalid input" when trying to set new manager password on 5412r switch

    I keep getting this message when trying to configure sha256 password

     

     

    [MHS]MDF-Core(config)#password non-plaintext-sha256

    [MHS]MDF-Core(config)# password manager user-name admin sha256 <string>
    Invalid input: sha256

     

     

    The switch is configured for vsf as well so I don't know if that would make a difference and i'm running version 16.07.0003

    I just did a factory reset to clear everything and still have the same problem.

    I also updated the version to 16.10.0007 and that still didn't solve my problem

    I fixed it in case anyone else has this issue. You have to run the "include-credentials" command first in order to get the SHA settings to show up.
