The password for one of the test labs here at San Diego Site was recently updated. Two of the PCs do not accept the new password. Here is the situation:
    1. The two PCs in question are both e-PCs with Windows 2000 Professional.
    2. Both will accept the old password if the LAN is unplugged from the back of the PC and the jack.
    3. Both will reject the old password if the LAN is connected to the back of the PC but not the jack.

What do you guys think the problem could be?
And how would I remedy it?

Sounds like they may be having problems with the domain server connection. I expect that without a cable it is somehow letting you log into the computer itself and with the cable it wants the password authorized by the domain. On the Logon screen there is a checkbox whose name I can't remember (more? options?). You might click on it and watch what domain you are connecting to in each case.

Also make sure it can ping the domain server by IP address and by name. You may want to have the Domain Admin re-add it to the domain.

May be possible that the local and domain passwords are not synchronized. So try to login on WS only with the old Pwd and then change the local Pwd manually to the new Pwd.
