  • 1.  troubleshoot and fix issue on LACP / BAGG

    Hi,

    since few days, i have a physical link on BAGG who is flapping and i dont know why, and i dont know how to fix it. Atm, i shutdown the port to troubleshoot it, below the configuration of BAGG from the switch and from the other switch (it's a link between 2 switches) :

    Flapping...cabling issue between GE1/0/47 and GE5/0/17 ports? have you tried to change the GE5/0/17 with another port to see if the issue has a relationship with far end port or not?

    OK...HP A5120-48G EI Switch R2208P1 means November 2011...you're not running any recent release available since 2011 (actually there is R2222P08 of November 2017)...as first best practice one should avoid to run such old software in order to have a more consistent troubleshooting procedure.

    What is the switch at other end (then GE5/0/17 naming looks strange for a single HP A5120-48G EI Switch, isn't it?)? is there an IRF on the other side?

    What's about removing:

    broadcast-suppression 20
    multicast-suppression 20
    loopback-detection enable
    loopback-detection action shutdown

    settings from both GE5/0/17 and GE5/0/18 interfaces in order to have both ports pairs (on both ends) configured equally?

    I've doubt also about the fact that involved interfaces should have the same exact configuration...which above I don't see.

    Hello,

    i know about versionning on this switch (and many other). I said that when i joined the company 5 month ago. I tried to see every issue (miss configuration, bad configuration, old software).

    About this switch, it's a "datacenter" switch so i cant "play" with it easily.

    The other switch (the other side then) is the network core, 7506.

    I will try to change the port and ill do a feedback after.

    why should i need to remove the bdcast and mcast suppression ? do i need really need it everywhere ? (1st thing i see when i joined there, and i never use that on cisco's device)
