In our move to Central (from Airwave) we had to go up to OS 10 and change (from downloadable user roles) to local user roles. We've always been advised to stay two revisions back from the latest and greatest for our APs (345, 515 and 635). In "New" Central we're being told that there will be an additional license required for the use of user roles. What's Aruba's plan for user roles and using Clear Pass, Aruba 6200/6300 switches and Aruba IAPs? We've been bouncing our network around in moving between user roles based on either CVE's or having gone from Airwave to "Classic" Central. And now are being told we have to go to "New" Central and will need to purchase an additional license. I need to know what direction Aruba's going so I can plan ahead (both budget and network) before the end of the year. Will I need to go back to OS 8 and downloadable user roles? Will there be a way of migrating from Classic Central to New Central without zeroizing our switch stacks? Which AP OS versions should we be looking to move to so we can continue securing our network connections and client data? We have people attending Atmosphere but all the training is full.

In Aruba Central there is no additional subscription for user-roles. The required subscriptions are for AP, switches and gateways.

you can always  refer to HPE Aruba Networking Central SaaS subscriptions that outlines what subscriptions are available and maps it to their functionality.
