Here I have same issue and more. System is V3001 Analog, Software 6.5.22, 50 users, 4x analog lines using the NBX integrated FXO ports. We are using IE 8 and Firefox 3.6.3, but when this problem happens, suddenly it locks/freezes the web access to the NBX, although all phones will continue to get dial tone and have ability to communicate. I have read the knowledgebase, and thought that maybe some network traffic is causing distruption to the NBX Web Service (There are recommendations to block any tcp/udp traffic to NBX port 1024-1025). I have created ACL rules on the switch to block this as per the recommendation, but still the issue persists. Luckily I still have service contract for this device and I have opened a ticket, and should be getting a response very soon from 3Com. Will be posting the results as soon as the cause is clear. Another issue my customer reported today, is that sometimes phones will start ringing suddenly, and when the user picks the phones to answer, the ringing continues, and will not stop until that phone is rebooted. Really strange, and could not find similar cases logged in the knowledgebase!
I wanted to ask you Michael, what LAN switches you are using in you network to connect NBX and Phones? In our case, the customer is using cisco LAN switches, and in my next visit to his site, I am planning to disable all STP and CDP traffic on interfaces connecting to the NBX. I am disperately seeking a solution to bring the setup to stability, as this is a pilot project with our customer, and three more sites will follow should the solution prove to be robust and stable!
