  • 1.  Various models not respecting EIRP setting

    Posted Oct 10, 2023 02:20 PM

I have a high school where the classrooms are stacked and the walls are thin.  I have tried to adjust the min and max EIRP settings way down to keep the CCI to a minimum.  When I do a survey in these rooms, I can still see 20-30 other APs broadcasting.  I set the Min and Max EIRP to 6 but only my 555s are respecting that.  Other AP models  (315, 335, 515) are broadcasting at 9, 10, and 11.  What am I missing here?

Note that some AP models now have a minimum radio transmit power of -10 dBm, the AP-555 being one of them.  And since 2017 we factor the MIMO gain (~3 dBi for 2x2, ~6 dBi for 4x4, ~9 dBi for 8x8) into the conducted power.
