  • 1.  Voip phones, port security

We have port-security enabled on our ports so only registered mac-addresses get connection.  We're thinking about getting VoIP phones, and since these phones will have a mac-address, they also need to be entered on the mac-address table correct?  Also increase the limit of mac-address.

    Just want to make sure

If this is a CX switch, you will have to add the phone MAC address to the list and increase the limit on the port.

You can set the port to sticky with a limit of 2.

    Its almost the same.

You can use a static learn mode with an address-limit of 2 to only allow the first 2 devices on the port to be allowed.

    Aruba-2930F-8G-PoEP-2SFPP(config)# show port-security 2

    Port Security

    Port : 2
Learn Mode [Continuous] : Static Address Limit [1] : 2
    Action [None] : None
    Eavesdrop Prevention [Enabled] : Enabled
    Disable Timer : 0

    Authorized Addresses
