the 6300m is not supported MLAG, is any mean to use VSX?

I have a two servers connected with both of the switches and the two switches are connected with LAG, should i need VSX for failover?

6300M switches support VSF as the stacking technology and not VSX. So if you have a say two 6300Ms in a VSF stack then they operate as one logical switch. and you can have LAG to your servers. Link aggregations (L-Agg) may span interfaces across multiple stack members.

    Here is the VSF guide

thanks for the feedback. I will make a lacp between the two switches and after this the servers are connected to both of them, should be not a problem.

    Hi Alexandro.

I do not believe VSX for the 6300 has been released yet.

As ariyap writes you can use VSF for up to 10 switches, that creates one logical switch with the same chassis id and then you can create lags with ports from different member switches.

Some of the differences for VSF vs VSX are:

    • More than 2 switches in VSF
    • Shared Control Plane in VSF
    • No Live Update in VSF (major update improvements in later CX versions)
    • 6200-6300 runs VSF
    • 5420, 6400 and 8nnn runs VSX

Hi all, little big follow-up: here the great How-To about VSX finally landed on Aruba CX 6300F/6300M (starting with latest AOS-CX 10.16 LSR) made by @Richard Litchfield.
