  • 1.  Weird Drops on 5406zl

    Hi,

We have 10 5406zl running the latest firmware (11.69) and we have millions of drop on every ports. I have found out that every time you plug a device (ip phone, computer, etc) in a port, a random number of drops appears. No errors, just drop. The drop are stable after the initial connection. Anyone has an idea? We had the same problem with the previous firmware 11.63. Rebooting the switch only fix the problem for a couple of hours before they reappears again. We have disabled STP, LACP, POE and test on a stand alone switch with the same results. It doesn't seems to affect the network performance but I don't like it. Anyone has the same problem or have an idea?

    Here are the port info.
    Link Status : Up
    Bytes Rx : 8,602,943

We have a 5406zl as the router for
    about 2,500 computers on about
    75 2650 switches.

The interfaces on the 5406zl showed
    some significant Tx Drops when
    I rebooted switches connected to
    that port. I assumed this
was because the port was blocked
by STP briefly, but I didn't investigate
    further. But you've tried with
    STP disabled, so perhaps something
    stranger is at work.

It is the same for us, even with the newest firmware.

Also, there is no difference between switches or clients connected to the 5406... :-(
