Hello, i would like to know when using mesh point and mesh portal based topology is recommended. One deployment i know is for connecting wireless for nearby buildings. What are the others?

Also which aruba APs support this topology?

    Thank you.

wireless mesh functionality is part of all the indoor/outdoor APs with minimum dual radios. For details, you can refer to the validated design guide

You would use mesh in cases where you can't pull a cable. That can be in (outdoor) point-to-point links between buildings, it can also be used in cases where you need an additional AP for client coverage or wired access in a location where you can't pull cables like an extension of your wireless signal.

In general, only deploy mesh where you don't have a good alternative.
