Wireless Access

Hi all,

Currently my company has the following set up, but for some reason, we are unable to get Wifi6 on our Mac devices even though they're all from 2024 and up and I have confirmed that our user devices are compatible with Wifi6, but instead we are getting Wifi5 (802.11ac)

Wifi Controller: Aruba7010, 8.10.0.17

Wifi Access Points: AP 515

On our Airwave server, I see that the APs are already using the 802.11ax standard, but when I check on my device it shows 802.11ac on the PHY Mode.

All of our hardware seems to be compatible with using Wifi6, but we're unable to get there.

Any insights for this would be great, thanks in advance!

Edit: Resolved! There was another High Efficiency enable tick box I needed to check! After checking that, submitted and deploying the changes, I was able to get Wifi 6 working! Thanks everyone!

Ensure that 802.11ax (HE/high efficiency) Wi-Fi 6 is actually enabled in the SSID profile.

First, log into the controller via SSH and check `show ap bss-table` to see what the PHY is being advertised by the BSS. 

Check the SSID profile, and then the high-efficiency profile:

If that all checks out, then investigate `show ap association` and inspect the client capabilities for the clients you expect to be operating at Wi-Fi 6.

Yes, I have checked that and it is enabled for us with the default settings

Your screenshot doesn't show whether or not HE is enabled. That's in the General section, not the Advanced section. This also doesn't show if there's an override somewhere else in the configuration hierarchy. We need to rule that out. I'd suggest via the method mentioned earlier.

oops sorry, here you go. Unfortunately, my company does not allow SSH, so I will need to do a lot of these configurations on the web UI. Thanks for your help on this!
