    Hello All:

I hope this is the right forum for this question. In my Pavilion DV 2000t, I need to replace the antenna cable that connects from the mother board (??) to a tiny slot on the wireless card.

When I sent my laptop (under warranty) to HP to fix a loose panel around the keyboard, they fixed that problem but screwed up my wireless card and the antenna cable connector. They sent me a new wireless card but in spite of sending the laptop twice, they simply don't get that the problem is with the antenna cable. The first time they simply reseated the wireless card and the second time they restored my laptop to the factory settings. Quite obviously, that did not fix the problem.

I am shocked by the incompetence of the Houston service center and thinking of getting it fixed myself even though my laptop is still under warranty. They were supposed to ship me an empty box to send the laptop back to them to fix the cable but because of the aftermath of Ike, I am yet to get that box.

I will appreciate if someone can tell me (1) if it is possible to replace just that antenna cable without replacing the entire motherboard and (2) if it is possible, where can I buy that cable?

    Thank you very much!
    Mohan
