The two most likely reasons why it is not being recognized are:

    1) It is not seated correctly. If you look at it from the side (across the back of the display) and you can see the square notch holes, it is riding too high. Try re-attaching it.

    2) Fn-F2 controls whether the slot is enabled or not... try pushing the key sequence a couple of times, slowly, to see in the device is found by the operating system.

The card seems to be seated properly as Windows detects the new device.

Like all new hardware the device goes through the wizard, however when i go to point it at the downloaded drivers, none are found.

Even if i just skip this wizard and install the drivers using the setup.exe, it does not work.

I dont have the drivers CD anymore or manual.

Sounds like you are installing the incorrect driver set...there were two WLAN multiport modules...the first used a PRISM chipset from Intersil while the second used a Hermes chipset from Agere. You can most easily tell the difference by looking at the silk screening on the side. The PRISM module just has "Wireless LAN" while the Agere Hermes module has "Wireless LAN W200".

If you have the Prism use the following links:

If you have the Agere use the following link:

    Thanks for your help Philip.

Now that you mention the two types this seems rite, because i had 2 of these modules at one point and gave the other to a friend.

I have the module without the W200 - always wondered where i had seen this written (the other card d'oh).
