just purchased a pavilion ze4500 amd. The wireless lan will not connect in areas where others will. Spent an hour or so speaking with a tech from hp on the phone - reinstalled new drivers, etc and nothing worked. They suggested that I would have to pull a cover off the bottom of the notebook to solve some problem. Any ideas?

    thanks

    Hi Jarod,

It may also be worth posting this over in the Pavilion Notebook Category:

The folks there should have a solution for you,

    Cheers,

    Jarod,

What OS are you running? There are many reasons why a wireless client will not associate with an access point - and many of them relate to security settings.

The AP may have MAC filtering and encryption (WEP or WPA) enabled, SSID broadcasting may be disabled, and of course the AP has to be compatible - 802.11a/b/g with the card
