  • 1.  New Central and missing features...

    Posted Sep 09, 2025 09:17 AM

    Hello,

Just got New Central enabled in our POC instance and done some testing with it. Now I need to ask few things:

If I need to add let's say one single vlan into 50 switches which all should have few extra configurations in L2 level.. Like
    vlan 222
       name ThisIsDoable
       ip igmp snooping version 2
       ip igmp snooping static-group 224.0.1.131
       ip igmp snooping enable

With old central I will create vlan to proper group and after deployment I will open MultiEdit, select max 50 devices, edit config, copy-paste three lines into proper place and Save...

How do I do this in new central?

it is best to work with your local Aruba SE as this is still allow-listed feature.

I have asked to enable new central with edit features in our testing workspace so that we can evaluate features there...

Do I understand right that there might be restrictions still in different features to use or is this going to be non-existing feature in new Central (Which might render Central to be pretty much useless to our use then)?

At this point in time, there is a chance that some features are unavailable in New Central configuration. Based on questions that you have asked over time, using quite specific features, it may be better to wait till general availability. The way you configure your network is different between classic and new Central, so you may need to change your configuration design/habits.

Unless you have a local SE that you can work with, and get the missing features reported so they can be added, or you have specific use cases where the new configuration model would help, I would leave new Central configuration where it is for now.

We haven't deployed new central to production yet and with poc/demo network we just check how new central changes compared to old one where I have learned to handle things which are some times quite far away from main stream scenarios and cannot be handled with given UI tools.

My local SE has quite good understanding about our use cases and there will be hands on training very soon where I hope to get more info about this.
