  • 1.  Education Module Dial with LD Code

Is there a way to include a telephone company long distance code into the dial string of the Education Module?

I am attempting to dial the home of some students who are long distance.  We are using the telephone company's CoS to force a 3 digit long distance code which requires a short pause before entering.

    Thanks, Dennis

    Thanks for the reply Merlin.

By dial string I'm referring to the string of numbers sent to the device; the device meaning the component used to communicate with the telephone company; IE the PRI card.

An example would be: 919031234567 pause 1234

the first 9 is stripped by the pretranslator, the next 11 digits are sent (19031234567) to be dialed by the PRI card, but then we need to pause for the telco to request a long distance code (about 2 seconds) and then send a 1234 as the code.  I need to know if (and how) we can create the pause.

Hope this makes more sense - Thanks, Dennis

Try a star or a Pound but its been quite a while since I did any of that and we could not get it to work . The NBX does not like anything except a number or correct dial string . I know we had this issue on direct dial with account codes so we created our own account codes in the NBX . If it does not work then try those ......
