How does ClearPass cluster handle load-balanced radius packets?

  • 1.  How does ClearPass cluster handle load-balanced radius packets?

    If I have my cluster behind a load-balancer, how will ClearPass deal with messages going to different nodes in a cluster?

     

    For example, cluster node 1 receives an accounting start message, cluster nodes 2 and 3 receive interim updates for the host, and cluster node 4 receives the stop packet.

     

    Will this information be synced across the cluster?

    Will Access licensing be reserved and freed accordingly?

    Or do we need to configure the load-balancer to persist sessions to a single cluster node?

    Radius (auth and acct) client persistence to single server based on calling-station-id is strongly recommended with load-balancing.
