Hello,
here is the situation:
Name :
Link Status : Up
Bytes Rx : 3,069,881,422 Bytes Tx : 1,972,228,927
Unicast Rx : 348,278,145 Unicast Tx : 830,170,224
Bcast/Mcast Rx : 11,420,102 Bcast/Mcast Tx : 22,769
FCS Rx : 1,144,382 Drops Rx : 0
Alignment Rx : 0 Collisions Tx : 0
Runts Rx : 0 Late Colln Tx : 0
Giants Rx : 0 Excessive Colln : 0
Total Rx Errors : 1,561,680 Deferred Tx : 0
as you can see this is pretty bad; these errors happen on the gigabit uplink; on the other end is a Foundry 4000
so we went out and bought a new HP2824, upgraded to the latest firmware and connected it to the Foundry 4000;
result: is the table above; our switch was getting about 500 of these a second.
So, we swiped out Foundry, glblic ( yes we are using HP's brand ), cable everything but the HP2824.
HP support recommended to attach a HP2650 to the fiber drop and see if that causes any issues. HP2650 HAD NO ERRORS.
Did anyone experience a similiar issue? If yes, how did you resolve it ?
thanks in advance.
