    Posted 10 hours ago

    Hi dear community,

does any of you have experience with WiFi uplinks for Aruba IAPs (AOS8 IAP or AOS10 with CNX)?

    I found both those guides:

WiFi Uplink for Aruba Instant APs WI-FI5 and WI-FI6

    Aruba IAP Workgroup Bridge (Wifi-sta)

I haven't had any chance with those guides up until now.

    I tested with a AP575 and versions 8.13.3.0 / 8.10.0.7 and had following issues:

    • System setting extended ssid was not applied every time (some times appling worked but others didn't) (CLI and GUI)
    • Same with Uplink Prio (CLI and GUI)

In the end: I was able to connect the AP to an SSID and my AP also got an IP (show wifi-uplink status).BUT: Every client behind the AP wasn't able to communicate to the network behind the SSID (tried different settings and vendors). This happend despite NAT and directly placing the client into "VLAN 1".

I would be very glad if someone has guidance for me on this subject.

    BR
    Michael

    Hi Michael,

This was the video that I used in the past and it worked for me. Only thing that I had to change was for the APs that weren't the master, I had to change the uplink settings to downlink just like what's stated on page 6 of the Aruba IAP Workgroup Bridge (Wifi-sta) document.

    Thanks for your rely BV-STz358!

Something I forgot to add: I need the APs to roam within the uplink-SSID. Unfortunatly I can't use Mesh for my use case.

Detailed use-case: Mobile logistics system which have some wired components that are connected to MSM 501 Client Bridges to uplink to an existing IAP cluster via a dedicated SSID. Romaing is important and I can't convert the existing IAP cluster to a Mesh.
