I am reinstalling the wireless features for the 2510 after a couple months of using it in usb mode. I can not reinstall to my wireless system. Have tried everything, but a 1000 ft drop off a cliff.

The installation process in the user manual is being followed to the letter to no avail. Have been on the chat line with tech support for hours to no avail.

The installation process recognizes the printer and the wireless network. The address of the printer and the network match. During the verifying printer connection process (item 10 of the manual installation process - page 151 of the manual) the router light goes off and the network blue lamp come on (so I aasume they airport and the printer are talking), but at some point it stops recognizing the printer, defaults to the wired CAT5 and comes back with a message that the installation is terminated as it can not verify the printer settings.

I have tries everything I can think of. The SSID is correct, the WEP key is correct. The airport is working as I can use a wifi connected laptop through it to reach the internet.

I have previously used the PSC 2510 on this desktop with the same airprot in wireless mode successfully, so I am really stimmied!!!!

I have turned of all firewalls, so thats not it and have even gone through the 4-level software removal and reloading process, nothing helps.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Hi Arnold.

Can u please tell me that wheather you are able to get ipaddress of the printer

If you are not able to find it. Just follow this procedure

    Press Setup ..
Scroll down to network and press ok
Scroll down to network configuration and then ok
Then print network configuration page and then ok

Come to the laptop and try to ping

If the ip is not pinging then u have to turn off and turn on the printer

Sorry, Arnold, this is not direct help but I've got a very similar problem only I never got it going 100% on wireless. I can visit the PSC 2510 builtin web server via wireless but just can't install a printer. It's _very_ irritating. Come on HP!

I am having the same issue. It only allows 5 characters/numbers as WEP key. For my 64-bit wireless security, it actually asks for 10 characters.

I called the support, and someone over India not only did not help me, but asked me to pay the extended warranty for the call. I am belong frustructing here.

I will not buy any HP products in the future. They are not good at all!

    Hey guys

Connect the ethernet cable b/w printer and router.
Once you got the ip address for printer

open the EWS page of the printer

get into networking tab and wireless tab under connections type.

there you can enter the wep key and your wireless network settings and save them..

disable all the anti-virus and firewalls

    start the installation..

it will found printer and select wireless option

then it will ask you to remove the ethernet cable

then it will install the software completly..

Iam Attaching the way how EWS page looks

    Happy ending guys

    Regards
    OM
