Hi all, I'm trying to see if the requested design is supported, and how it should be configured.

The request is to have a switch on a crane have redundant connectivity. Each IAP has a direcitonal antenna, pointed to their related mesh AP at the end of the aisle.

Does the IAP system have a way to ensure no loop is created with this setup? for spanning tree config, my Access switches are running PVST and the distribution is running RSTP.

    Hi,
not sure if the BPDU's will be sent over the MESH-link, though this article states, it should work:
How to setup a redundant WLAN point-to-point connection with aruba AP 387 - Network Guy

    though from this one:

the chance that it will work seems to be low....

Can you check, if the crane switch does receive STP-packets via the mesh-link ?
My personal preference setting up a mesh-link: use static IP/mask/gw plus "standalone" settings and of course a dedicated mgmt-subnet
