If it is blocked, probably you will not be able to reach it by serial. If it is in a rack near you, go there unplug it and plug it back. If it is in another city, phone someone to do this unplug-thing for you. Put some air conditioning unit near your swtich (or better - inside the rack): it will not crash due to excessively heated surrounding air.
