Source port filtering questions

    Hi,
    Some questions about sourceport filtering that i hope you guys could answer.

    I've tried the sourceport filtering on a HP2650.
    configured port 1-48 to forward to 50 (uplink) drop the rest.
    and 50 to forward to 1-48.

    This works nicely and effectivey blocks all client to client communication (no ip routing).

    But what if you enable routing, would it then be possible for client to client communication?

    if i lets say would activate sourceport filtering function on a 5300xl and activate ip routing, could i then make the acl's affect client to client traffic even though they are in the same network (vlan).
