Herman:
Thanks again but here is my confusion:
at: https://www.arubanetworks.com/techdocs/ClearPass/6.12/Installation-Guide/Content/SystemRequirements/SR-SupportedHypervisors.htm
it says:
"KVM on CentOS Stream 8, CentOS Stream 9, Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, and Ubuntu 22.04 LTS."
However, at:
https://www.arubanetworks.com/techdocs/ClearPass/6.12/Installation-Guide/Default.htm#VirtualAppliances/KVM-Installing_AboutVirtManager.htm#About
it says:
"The virt-manager application is a desktop user interface for managing KVM virtual appliances.
On RHEL distributions this can be installed using the following command:
#yum install virt-manager"
Now when I try and do an install on a RHEL 9 server it fails and frankly the instructions to do the install do not line up with the the virt-manager present on RHEL 9.
That was my one and only attempt at this so perhaps it is supported on RHEL 8 and not RHEL 9?
Again thanks for the help -
Mike

Quite sure that RHEL will work as well, as CentOS and RHEL are supposed to be 'binary compatible'. Also, the documentation part on virt-manager explicitly mentions 'on RHEL distributions'. Let me check internally if RHEL is maybe just missed in the documentation; you may also reach out to Aruba TAC to get a statement if RHEL is supported as KVM platform if that would help you.

Thanks - I had missed the section on supported hypervisor platforms. Essentially the CPPM KVM is only supported on Centos and Ubuntu. Frankly while I know it is an "ask" but since CPPM has moved to RHEL it would really be very helpful it the Centos support was replaced by RHEL 8 or 9. I know that isn't something can't be done "tomorrow" but RHEL is easily the #1 corporate version of Linux and I just can't use Centos or Ubuntu in many environments.
Thanks!

Apologies if this isn't the proper group -
I'd like to try and create a ClearPass 6.12.0 appliance using Red Hat's RHEL 9 environment. Is that a supported place to install and run a virtual ClearPass system. If not is there a listing of which OSes are supported.
Thanks -
Mike
