    Hi All


    I have removed vlan1 from all ports. So there are no ports in vlan1. And Now I cant  connect  to my switch. I have downloaded a guide from 3com.com.




    Where i have got info about resetting switch to factory defaults. but it doesnt work! =(


    Guide says that i must:


    1)press a button on rear panel


    2)turn off the switch


    3)turn on the swtich


    4)release button


    5)and finnaly i must reset the switch by web interface or by turning off and on again.


    So,  when i have done steps ftom 1 to 4 i have ran a Discovery Tool (ver6.0) and it has found to me my switch,


    But  when i have sent icmp request(ping)  to switch, It has not responded


    And when i have tried to connect  through browser I have got timeout error. 


    It seems to me that vlan settings are still same...


    Did anyone meet such problem? 


    Do any other ways for resseting exist?

    Have you tried to connect a console to the serial port?
    A "initialize" and "reboot" should completely reset the switch.

    The easiest way to reset the switch is using console connection in the menu option chose initialize to reset and reboot then assign IP address using console session

    this should able to resolve your problem

    If you have reset your switch, then there's no ip address assigned to vlan1, so you can't ping it, neither access it through web. Use the serial console port as adn suggested.
