Hi,

I am having trouble connecting computers to this switch directly.


If I connect an ethernet hub to one of the ports and connect computers to this it is fine but if I connect Laptop/PC's/Servers directly to the switch the ports stay inactive.

Any ideas?

When you say "inactive" - how long are you waiting?

It could be spanning tree...if the ports are not set to be edged ports then you can expect a delay of around 30 seconds before they get a DHCP lease.

Have solved my problem now.


I had to set the Speed and Duplex in the switch manually (not Auto negotiate) on the ports with direct connection and they popped up active almost immediately.
