Hello, provided that you already have updated both main and backup images on your HPE FlexFabric 5700 32XGT 8XG 2QSFP+ Switch (JG898A)...a thing you can surely do to free up flash space for future updates is to (permanently) delete - where permanently means not just trashing into the Flash's trash can but definitely delete - old and no more used Systema and Boot bin files:

    • 5700-cmw710-boot-r2422p02.bin
    • 5700-cmw710-boot-r2432p03.bin
    • 5700-cmw710-boot-r2432p05.bin
    • 5700-cmw710-system-r2422p02.bin
    • 5700-cmw710-system-r2432p03.bin
    • 5700-cmw710-system-r2432p05.bin

preserving only actually loaded/used System and Boot files:

    • 5700-cmw710-boot-r2432p06.bin
    • 5700-cmw710-system-r2432p06.bin

    Yes correct.

You want to have a backup file in case your main file gets corrupt or somthing like that. In that case you always have a fast backup software at hand. You can load it the same way you did with the main file, but instead of the keyword main you can use the keyword backup in CLI.

I dont know the GUI that good, but i assume there will also be a backup section under software upgrade.
